Summer doesn't wait for you does it? And you still have the laundry to tend! Tomatos are ready to get busy, g-boys cucumbers are growing, and my bff and product partner are super busy with Barr Street Market stuff. We sell our all natural and re purposed goods there every Saturday this summer. Between us we make All Natural lotions, soaps, room sprays, insect repellant, lip balm, soy candles, and many other useful and repurposed items like purses, aprons, reuseable sacks, coin purses, business and credit card holder, book page keepers, skirts, dresses, rugs....wow when you start thinking about just the circle of 3 (me, sis, bff) that contributes to one thing, it's not hard to imagine that going green, getting greener, and staying green really does make a difference. The aprons, skirts, and dresses are made from men's neckties. Also the page keepers. Sacks are made from tee shirts and the hem trimmings crocheted into rugs. Holders and wallets made from wax beverage cartons, purses made from furniture fabric samples. Larger rugs made from sheets. Only all natural oils are used in making our soaps, as well as the soy wax in the candles. Would anyone out there go back to parafin candles after burning soy? The only time I have seen it was in the case of a soy allergy. And still there are alternatives...beeswax, palm. You should really check out covingtoncreekcandles.com and see for yourself how hard she works to make her stuff fresh and natural.
This is not the only thing these ladies do that helps the environment, their health, and their budgets. They re use like everything. Not a stick of new furniture in any of our houses no doubt, unless we made it from reclaimed lumber. We will gather our tips on how easy it is to green. Come back and see us soon!
In the back yard currently I have drying mangos and papaya pcs, hedgehog bedding and a tarp of potting soil mixed with compost. I hope it doesn't rain.
